I am new to the program and am really confused about the ROAD... will send me into a full blown panic attack, will it not?

Probably the opposite, but what if it does?

Is it possible to faint behind the wheel? My biggest fear on the highway is seeing black and being too dizzy to focus on the road - I've gotten those symptoms before during a panick attack but I've always been able to just lie down and they go away - I can't lie down while on the interstate. I am making a little progress, I went a few miles today, stayed in the right lane of course but it's better than not getting on it at all...

Wow..that's about the weakest sounding celebration of success I've heard....you did something great, be proud of it! Don't minimize it! Everyone including ME conquers their fer with little small steps that stack one on top of the other.
The best indicator of the future is the past, right? How many times have you fainted so far? None. How many times have you "gone crazy"? None. Ever stopped breathing? Nope.
As I type this I'm looking out my window and everything is covered in about 8 inches of snow. When my daughters asks to go out and play in it, I don't go check every time and make sure that the snow isn't scalding hot and won't burn her. Why not? Because I know from all my past experience that it's not going to happen.
Fainting is caused by a sudden DROP in blood pressure. Which way do you think your blood pressure goes when you're anxious? I'll give you a hint. My grandpa has high blood pressure, and they didn't prescribe roller coasters....:)
Now let me hear you be PROUD of your accomplishments!

You are doing well! Rich is right celebrate every time you achieve something. Buy something small as a reward or spend some quiet time doing something you enjoy. It doesn't matter what it is, you just need to be rewarded.
Our problems with driving did not start overnight, they will not be gone overnight, but small progressive steps is the way to go. I like to think of it as a workout session. We did not get fat/out of shape etc overnight, but by steady progressive work we can look and feel better. To continue the analogy - You may have a bad workout session or a good one, but at least you went to the gym!
Small baby steps, reward yourself , use the program and don't skip anything .. it works!
