View Full Version : Wondering whether I should order this course

Hi, everyone...I've read all over the main site, and these boards, and haven't found a situation similar to mine yet, so thought I'd post and ask here.

Since 2000 I've had some weird dizziness problem. I don't have a specific diagnosis yet, but I have vertigo, dizziness/off balance, and motion sickness that hit me out of the blue and completely unexpectedly. At first, I continued to try to drive normally, but I've had SO MANY terrible experiences with the dizziness and motion sickness while in the car since then that I'm now absolutely TERRIFIED to try to drive anywhere more than a mile or two.

In my case, it's anxiety and panic ADDED TO an actual health problem. There are some days when I'm simply too dizzy to get behind the wheel. There are some days when I'm too dizzy to even be a passenger.

I've been trying to expand my driving distance a bit on my own, and can drive four miles out and back every once in awhile, but this is not enough.

My husband is in the hospital right now, a half-hour drive away, and I couldn't even begin to drive myself there. Too much interstate one way, and going a back way means too many traffic lights, bridges, and heavy traffic, which tends to throw off my balance. I hate having to depend upon someone else to drive me to the hospital to visit my husband, but I don't have much choice right now. If I headed out by myself, I'm afraid I'd end up stranded on the road somewhere, half-way there, unable to continue or make it back home. That happened to me once three years ago. I attempted that drive, and ended up with such panic and feelings of unreality that I don't know how I ever managed to make it home. I'm not sure that it's even safe to try to drive in that much of a panic.

When I found this program, I wanted to sign up for it right away, but without knowing whether or not it was good for someone like me, who suffers from actual dizziness and motion sickness along with the panic about driving, I hesitated.

Any comments from people here are much appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about your husband, hopefully he has a speedy recovery and all is well. I will pray for both of you.

As far as the program, I can tell you that it works. It worked for me and it can work for you. I was very skeptical at first, but I bought it and am working my way through my anxiety while driving.

My advice would be to get checked out by a Dr. concerning the physical problems and then if it is ok to proceed do so.

Happy posting.

Thank you, Frank-for both the reply and the prayer.

I'm not real impressed with the lack of response from the owner of this site.

I asked a question here, as well as by e-mail, and haven't heard anything in reply.

I was eager to purchase this program, but am a bit leery about it now.

Becky,

FWIW - I am just a fellow sufferer like you who wants to help. I am going through the program as well so I am right there with you.

I am surprised at what you are saying Rich has always been very responsive whenever I have contacted him. If I were you I would double check your phone numbers and your email addresses fro him and then try once more. I would be very surprised if he does not respond. In fact, his quick and sincere response is what made the decision for me.

Thanks,
Frank

Becky,
I replied about an hour after you sent me the email, which is why I didn't respond here. See the below.

I am so sorry, Rich! I never received that reply.

My fear of driving started due to the difficulties I had trying to drive or ride while dizzy or motion sick, so on my non-dizzy days, I am terrified to drive more than a mile or two.

Hmm, wonder if your course would help me at least dare to TRY driving farther...

Thank you for replying to my first message so quickly. It's good to know that the good things I've heard here are true.

I assume you only get dizzy when driving....which points to anxiety as the culprit.

If you get dizzy all over the place, then you should probably more closely look at medical things like blood pressure, etc.

But if it's only in the car, your blood pressure doesn't know it's driving...:)
