View Full Version : Need support badly...

Hi all,
I was wondering if I could get some support. I am so disappointed at myself and stressed as I now have four children and I can't even drive them to school. I have had to make so many excuses and go to all kinds of lengths to survive with a family and no license. We have missed out on lots of things, and I feel sorry for my kids. I am 39 and have never been able to learn to drive.
My problem is that I just don't know where to start, and I am so fearful of failing the test that I don't have my learners. I have had it in the past, and have had some lessons. But since then had a baby with special needs and spent the next 8 years looking after that. Now I have respite and I would be able to go out for lessons etc.
Can anyone help me with advice that will help me to succeed in passing my learner test (first step on the way)? I am so overwhelmed, and don't think I can do it. Also I am under a lot of pressure, as soon we will lose our little ones disability taxi program and he won't be able to get to his school.
K.

Hey there, K!

How about if the first thing you do is get POSITIVE ;) You were really getting down on yourself in the above post.

You have already started somewhere ... you WANT to drive. (There! First step out of the way.. wheww!)

Why not start out with some lessons again? What part of the lessons scare you? Is it the driving?

Hi there,
Well thankyou for the encouragement. I told myself think positive over and over. Yesterday I went for the learner test and failed, ouch. Today I made myself go back and test again, and got 100% ! I was determined to get it and told myself that I'd go back every day till I got it...
I feel quite proud, I have my first driving lesson next week. So I'll see how I go and if I'm still battling with the negativity and fears, I'll sign up for the course. I'm amazed, at how far I've come, even from just signing up for the free first 5 lessons. For the first time in my life, I know I'm not the only one battling this, and I feel like I can really do it.
This is lifechanging, thanks a million...

Hi Karen - Something on that positive thinking... You didn't mention if you had Rich's program, but the thought popping really, really helps. Instead of saying "THINK POSITIVE KAREN" (ok.. maybe you don't do that.. but I did.. ) You need to learn to think positively about things around you, etc...

I'm excited for you!
