Water under the bridge?

Hi all. This really seems strange to me . . . I love to drive, but recently I have developed an unreasoned fear of driving over big bridges. Smaller ones don't bother me at all, but those big suspension bridges? Forget it! Nothing else about driving bothers me at all, just those big bridges. Why? And why all of a sudden? And what can I do about it?

It's the height right? Imagine if the water were to rise up to like a foot under the bridge? It wouldn't be so bad to me.

Sometimes the height...usually the inescapability of a bridge. Once you're on, you're trapped, no way off but the other side.
