My name is Brandon Blair, I'm 21, and I live in Dallas, Texas.

My fear of driving began with a bad experience with go-karts that I had when I was younger. While everyone else drove the go-karts with all the curves and all the excitement, I was stuck with a go-kart course that goes around and around and around, and I bumped into it EVERY time I turned, and it was a frightening experience, and it somehow, made its' way into the present. For me, it's 3 years of driving practice, and each one makes me more nervous and tense than the last one. I feel that I'm a joke not just to my friends, but also my family, because everybody earned their Class C License by 18, and I have to get mine at 21.

I REALLY need help overcoming my fear of driving, because it pretty much ruined
the life that I was meant to enjoy. :( :(

So, can you please help me? :?:

Welcome Blair.

There's a lot of great people here that understand what you're going through.

Hello to you all. Well I am determined to finally get my license and I am no spring chicken. I found this website and hope it helps. I am open to suggestions and look forwarding to reading the success stories. Driving feels overwhelming to me. I took lessons in NYC 20 years ago and was driving! I think I took 3 in total. Each one was so frightening to me and I felt so out of control! How to I watch the road and 3 mirrors? I felt like the cars were so close (they are in nyc!) and that i am seconds away from an accident at all times. I then took lessons in a quieter suburb and the instructor told me I was the worst driver he ever had to work with. That was that. I ran home and hid. So weird because I am very confident at work and have done very well for myself. I know this is a phobia and the avoidance was a terrible mistake. I have a brother and sister and only my sister drives. Neither of my parents did and we are all so nervous in cars. My dad used to throw his arms up around his head at the slightest short stop. Just for the record, my sister HATES driving and does only chose to do it so her children could grow up outside of nyc and she pokes along at 35 miles per hour in a 65 mile hour zone. cars honking and people yelling at her-but she does it!
best to you all

:) Hello Brandon - I'm glad that you are working on this issue now, while your are still young. I regret that I waited 13 years before I did anything. I just brought this program with the hope that I'll finally get back on the road. Best to both of us.
