Fear of turning on cars (and drive also)

Hi my name is Erika Julia, I am 32 years. I'm Peruvian. When I was 12, my sister (who was 14) turned on my mom's car and she push the accelarator full and we crashed into a wall....we didn't have injuries but I got traumatized....I have being afraid of turning on cars and also to drive until now. I have driven in Peru sometimes, but always with fear so I hired a chofer and I solved my problem. But 3 months ago I moved to California, and have a chofer is not so easy like Peru, so I have to learn to loose that fear and drive...I can't make it everywhere with my bike. Cars here go very fast and very close....mostly in the freeway. I get very afraid. I have to fight this fear, but I don't know how. Also I'm searching for a Driving School, that can have the pacience to teach me. Maybe u can recommend me one.

Welcome! I haven't seen driving schools generally do very well with anxiety, and many times they make the problem worse, but maybe you'll find one, good luck!
