Today I drove on the Beltway (Washington DC) for few exits with my 15 year old son - He gave me a high five - and we came back the same way! I did the ROAD technique once and was then totally fine! I am thrilled, excited, and hopeful! If I can continue to challenge myself and have this sort of success the sky's the limit. Not completely over the hump but definitely scaling my way to the top. Thank you all so much especially you Rich!

Rich - interesting that your reply "DONT STOP" was exactly what I needed to see. I was already internalizing that I should not push my luck, give it a rest for a while - well I am not going to let that happen - I am not going to stop! Tomorrow I am driving to the beach - Husband and best friend will be with me - they are both aware of my driving anxiety and are behind me 100%. One of my favorite segments of the Driving Fear Program is the section titled "Waiting to Feel Better Before Practicing" - it rings very true to me - I am facing that I have anxiety - so instead of running from it I am going to face it head on - anxiety is a part of me but I am going to work on it being just alittle part!!!

Mission Accomplished!!!!
There and Back!
My husband and I left Friday AM - he read the paper the whole way there!!
Today on the ride home I had 3 other passengers added to the mix. Friend, nephew, and his friend. Biggest compliment was from my nephew's friend after she became aware that driving is not one of my favorite things to do - "I would have never known." :P
I did not mention this before, but if any of you are familiar with the Northern Va / Dc area - to get to the Delaware Shore you must tackle the Cheasepeake Bay Bridge (2 miles long and quite high - a real doozie of a bridge). Something I was not real excited about doing, but I said to myself "Self - if you can get your butt to the bridge then you WILL drive over the bridge." Tackled it without a problem!!!!!
Feeling so empowered - so happy!!
Feeling so happy to have found your program and support Rich!!!
I have learned so much - and feel there is more to face but....I am very pleased with my progress. I have been dealing with this problem for nearly 20 years and am now feeling that there may be a light at the end of a very long and painful tunnel -
Thank you all!!! Hope I am not bragging too much.

I've been to that area many years ago, and I assume it's gotten worse, not better. Congratulations!
