I understand the theory behind these four steps, but I guess I am afraid to try them out while I am driving, and that is when I get the panicky feelings. I'm not sure what the best approach for this part of the program would be. Any ideas?

I wish there was an easier answer than to just be afraid and do it anyway, but there isn't. Red Sock, Thought Popping and everything else in the program will make it easier to do the R.O.A.D. but no matter what the first couple times it will be difficult to allow. You have to just trust that everything will be ok, despite your negative thinking. If you haven;t been doing everything else in the program diligently and for awhile, do that first, but the day will come where you'll have to throw your fear about panic out the window for a few minutes and you'll be surprised what happens...
nothing.
