I have always been anxious behind the wheel, really always. I was afraid to drive from the time when I first learned to drive and even after I got my license. For the past two and a half years, I had 2 legitimate excuses not to drive: I didn't have a car, and I didn't have insurance. The problem is, now, I have both of those and am expected to be driving myself everywhere. I am afraid to to drive alone, when its raining or snowing, on a highway, on busy streets, in unfamiliar territory, for long distances, and at night. I also refuse to go anywhere where I will have to parallel park. I need to have my glasses on to drive so I leave them at home, that way, if anyone asks me to drive I can just say I cant drive without my glasses. I desperately want to be able to go places on my own, not having to depend on others, but I am so afraid to drive that the inconveniences are worth it to me. I am seriously considering purchasing the program, but I'd like to know if it will help me even though I have been afraid to drive since day one; I don't have any traumatic experiences to relate to my fear.

Hey you sound like me. I am almost 20 and I am terrified to drive. I always make excuses as to why I can not drive. I have never have had a license due to this fear. I will do anything to get out of driving. It can be an inconvenience but I make due, I will walk places to find people to give me rides but it is really getting old and is starting to really affect my life.

Wait until you are more comfortable driving to get your license. Getting mine while I was still afraid of driving was a big mistake. People are less inclined to give rides to someone that has a license and their own car. I know how you feel, I also do a lot of unnecessary walking and it makes finding a job a pain. I overlook a ton of job opportunities just because I would have to drive to get there.

Same here. Jobs to me are limited. I go to school in NC but live in MD which is a huge inconvenience to my mom because she has to drive me back and forth during breaks. However these past few weeks I have had to drive places and have been doing well with it. Still scared to get on a highway but hopefully I can overcome it. I have to get my license before the end of summer because it is a strain on my mom, so I am trying my best.
