I made it!

Well everyone... I made it down and back (190 miles roundtrip on the interstate) and did okay. I even managed to pass several semis at once... heart pounding, death grip on the steering wheel... but I didn't brake or slow down. I did have a moment of panic when someone was right on my tail but all I did was tap my brakes GENTLY to let them know that they didn't have to follow so close and kept on driving. Once I got into the city I did have a bit of trouble when I was in the right lane and felt trapped because there were no medians or turnoffs, but I managed to talk myself down and made it through. So... I guess I feel pretty good but realize there's still a lot of work to do. I'll just keep plugging away. Thanks for letting me share.

You deserve to be feeling incredibly pleased with yourself for doing that awesome drive under pretty gruelling circumstances (all those semi's!!!). Use that success as momentum for future challenging drives and I'm sure each time your anxiety levels will continue to diminish.

Congratulations Annie!! I can't wait to be able to post a success story like this. My goal is 110 miles (to visit my Dad). Someday it will be in sight...right now it seems very far away. I have worked up to two exits on the highway which seems like a success for now. Keep up the good work and reach for the stars!
