I'm glad you are all here. I sometimes feel alone and it really sucks. So, lets get to it. I am afraid of driving alone. Just the thought starts triggering the symptoms of panic attacks. I can drive to the corner store, but I can't drive to my girlfriends house. She has to drive all the way over here, get in my car, go out, come back to my house, and then drive home. She loves me and I know she doesn't mind but I do. And when she isn't around I have to ask family and friends that don't quite understand what it feels like to be so afraid of being in traffic with the worst case scenario going through my head. I have this horrible agoraphobia to the point of when I do have panic, I pass out. I'm like a fainting goat. So I am legally disabled but want to work. I am a stand up comic and it really is a dream come true. But I am being held back. I am restricted to gigs that someone can drive me to and wait for me. So when I go to NYC I have to wait for a long weekend for my GF. I don't like using this term, but I just want to feel "normal" again. Well that is it for now. Feel free to say hi. Thanks again for all of you being here!

Hi Donny! You are not alone. I have a similar fear of driving alone. I am glad we could meet through this forum.

Yes, you are definitely not alone! What is it about being alone while driving that scares you?

Hi Donny,
My name's Stephanie. I read your introductory post a while back here about your fear of driving alone and I thought you may be interested in what I could do for you. I support others to choose the right actions to deal with fears, anxieties, phobias and uncertainties they have regarding their travel experiences and careers and if you are still experiencing this fear that it holding you back in your career/relationship, I believe I could help you.
As you will be able to see from my website, I have a background in psychology, coaching, and am a certified Neuro-Linguistic-Programming practitioner. I do what I do because I want to share the enjoyment of travel experiences with others, for example, I am currently coaching several individuals, some like yourself with travel phobias and fears such as fear of flying and agoraphobia.
I do coaching over Skype by video conference and telephone as well as in person so it would not a problem where you live. I also do offer a free half hour consultation to all so individuals find out how my nlp coaching can help them - you may find that it may be worthwhile for you.
Regardless, I admire you for pursuing your dream job - I'll have to see your stand ups when I'm in the States :) Helping others is exactly what I always wanted to do hence I help people with their careers and their worries and anxieties so here is me, pursuing mine, if you would like to get rid of this barrier. Visit www.ccc-travel.com if you'd like some more information.
Take care and best wishes,
Stephanie
