Hi All,
My name is Vatsla (pronounced Vas-lah)
I have developed a driving phobia about 6 months ago. Before that I was driving without fear for about 8 years.
My phobia developed suddenly and I was very confused and frustrated.. I started seeing a therapist and that did not help much.
Recently I have started reading the Driving Fear program. I am on page30.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this forum. What a great thing! I hope that we can get to know each other and provide support and share our progress on the forum.
Thanks!!
Vatsla

Hi Vatsla, and welcome to the forum. If you've taken time to read through the numerous introductions, I'm sure you will know you are in the company of many who are just like you (and me). Between applying what you read in the using the Fear of Driving Forum, using this forum and just believing in yourself, you are destined to move forward. I, too, am still a way off driving highways, but since starting the program I have made very significant progress and am already achieving stuff I haven't managed to do in 13 years. What's more, I've come to enjoy a lot of the driving I am doing rather than the road and the car being public enemy #1. Good luck with progressing well and keep us posted.

Hi Vatsla,
Welcome. I'm only on pg. 25. I thought I had read it in its entirety, but when I kept reading comments from others on this forum, I became suspicious...hmmmm...I don't remember reading that. So, I brought up the file and realized that I had failed to print out the balance of the program. However, reading up to pg. 25 has helped me with my phobia already and I love this forum. I'm not the only one. The phobia we share is so similar, it's bazaar. Some details differ, but the sensation is the same. We are all such clones of one another in so many ways.
I'm happy that you looked into the program as soon as possible. I didn't REALLY realize how long I had avoided certain driving situations until around 2 years ago. My phobia has been growing for about 13 years, before then I was a free-spirit. I'd drive up and down the Bay Area at all times of day and night. I loved driving the 9 hrs. from Los Angeles to San Francisco, I felt so free and grown-up. I hope to be just as carefree as I was back then sometime real soon.
I'm looking forward to finishing the program.
Talk with you all soon..
