I seem to get really anxious when I am in an area that has a lot of commotion and movement. It's like my brain cannot process all of the activity going on all at once and I get overwhelmed. I also can hardly go to a movie theatre and watch large screen televisions because it is too much input for my brain. My son gets mad at me because I cannot play his video games with him because I get a headache and feel sick when watching all of the activity on the screen. Does anyone have any issues like this?

I really think my inability to process commotion/multiple rapid movements at one time affects my inability to drive on a busy highway. I feel sensory overload and overwhelmed! Any ideas on what can help?

It's because you're anxious and you're trying to take in everything at once, again, you're talking yourself into it. There's always too much to take in, but you don't try to.
Take a walk in the park and could try to focus on the feeling of the wind, birds chirping, people talking, sun shining, music playing, and a million other things and you'd feel anxious and overloaded. But you don't do that.
You can choose not to do it on the highway too, it's not really that different, it's a SYMPTOM of anxiety.
