Yesterday I got a call that a close family member was gravely ill in ICU and in the hospital. Unfortunately due to the fact that we are in Texas, our local hospitals are full because we have our city has taken in many of the critically ill evacuees who were in hospitals in the Hurricane Ike area. Due to this, our family member was hospitalized at the closet available hospital which is 30 +/- miles from our home down a major interstate freeway - you know, lots of cars, elevated stretches, etc etc. I was unable to find anyone to drive me there. Needless to say, I was just sick, embarrassed, angry, (you name it) about myself for being so helpless. I went straight home from work and started searching the internet and told my husband I would go to therapy or whatever it took but I simply couldnt live this way anymore. I even thought about what I would do if I ever had to evacuate.

I dont have a lot of money and wanted to get the free first series and signed up for it via email, but have yet to recieve it. Does anyone know how long it takes to get it? I just wanted to have a closer look before I spend the money. I feel like I am in such a bad way, that no one can help me and naturally I am skeptical. After reading the blogs and the info on the website, I am dying to give it a try, what have I got to lose except a few dollars.

You should get it immediately, did you check your spam folder? Sometimes it goes there, did you confirm the email that it sent you?

My thoughts are with everyone post Ike, I certainly understand your frustration.

You don't even risk a few dollars, everything is guaranteed :)

Let me know if you have more trouble with the free series.

Hey rubyslippers,
Go and read Rich's blog entries on the website until you can afford the program. There is a lot of helpful, motivational info on there. The monster in the closet one is great. I read it every day. I got the program last week and have driven @ 10-20 miles a day since, not alone but at least driving. My goal is to be able to drive alone. I used to love to drive and am trying to re-learn the joy I used to get out of driving. I wrote down many of the tips and carry them in my back pocket.
I too live in Texas! It seems like where I live no where is closer than 5 miles and to go anywhere fun you have to get on I-35! I avoid the interstate at all costs right now, but I am going to get over that I swear.
