Hi all, particularly those of you who have joined this forum over the last month. I normally jump into the forum every couple of days, but I have been without internet and phone (ouch) for nearly a month so haven't had a chance to get to know any of you. I've just had a catch-up reading all your posts and it's encouraging to see that things are going well for some of you.
Look forward to seeing more of your posts.

Hi I'm brand new. This is my first posting so I'm anxious to hear what everyone else is experiencing. This is a new phobia for me....it actually started years ago ( I became afraid of driving over bridges) but then it lay dormant until recently. It never disrupted my life and now it does. I can't figure out how this started.
I have been driving for my job all over the state of NJ for the past ten years. then I got downsized and offered a job to work from home so...no driving. I have just ( One month ago) started another job similar to my old one and I have to drive all over the state of NJ again. I can do a hundred mile radius and places that I'm very familiar with but not the others. I was paralyzed on tuesday night and had to get a hotel because I could not get onto the highway. Its mostly highways and bridges that get me.
Does anyone else experience this? And what have you done about it? I have called a therapist but can't get an appointment until the 18th of March. I took Rich's advice and have stopped caffeine and quit somking a few months ago. I do feel better but I do have that headache.

Hi!
Well I would highly recommend purchasing and using Rich's program if you have not done so already. Follow the program and it will help you immensely. You must be consistent and have realistic expectations, you cannot solve this overnight.
Some basics to help you in the sort term:
1. You must relax every day using some type of quiet time or meditation.
2. You must do the opposite of what you body feels is natural in a stressful situation. Relax, don't tense up.
3. Work on deep breathing. Use your breathing to relax yourself when you start to get stressed.
4. Take it 1 step at a time, small baby steps.
You can do this. It can be overcome. Follow the program and continue to use thee boards!
You are not alone and we are all working through this together!
